Residential ProgramVista Centre operates a fully supervised, wheelchair accessible, long term residence, for person who have sustained an acquired brain injury. Individuals are encouraged to maintain an independent lifestyle, with support and supervision being provided in such areas as activities of daily living, accessing community resources and socialization. Supervision is provided by a staff of fully trained counsellors, 24 hours a day. Residents are responsible for their food and shelter costs.
Basic Admission Criteria are;
- Age 18 years and older
- Have an Acquired Brain Injury
- Medically stable with no ongoing nursing care
- Completion of post injury rehabilitation
- Resident of Ontario
Following admission, there is a six-month probationary period designed to give both the individual and the program the opportunity to make an informed decision on the program's ability to meet the needs of the individual.
Family InvolvementActive involvement by the family is valued and encouraged. Families may be involved with the individual and staff in individual planning and review through regularly scheduled conferences and written reports.
Professional InvolvementCollaboration, as needed, occurs with various professionals, service providers and the program's Clinical Psychologist to ensure appropriate options and resources for all individuals who are served by the organisation.
